Mexican Subtropical Jet
A portion of the Mexican subtropical jet can be seen at the upper
portion of this oblique north-looking view taken during Skylab
over Mexico. This jet begins in the Eastern Pacific near Baja
California and moves east-northeast across Texas and the
southeastern United States into the Atlantic Ocean. In this
view, the main jet stream is somewhat to the north of its normal
track, while a split portion can be seen developing near the bot-
tom center of the view. (SL4-143-4606)
