young black lavas. Lavas partly fill the adjacent, older caldera.
Young cinder cones dot the volcano flank. Over several million years
the point of volcanism has shifted slightly westward. Old, dissected
volcanic peaks, many with summit calderas, occur SE of Tousside. The
photograph was taken on 10 October 1990 from an altitude of 162 n.mi.
(300 km) using a Hasselblad camera equipped with a 240 mm lens and
color visible film.
