Image Caption: A view looking northwest of the Amazon River Delta shows the
large sediment plume expanding outward into the Atlantic Ocean.
Note the sediment plume (1) hugging the coast north of the Delta.
This is caused by the west-northwest flowing N. Brazil Current.
