Image Caption: This scene of New England, (41.5N, 72.0W) shows a rare cloud free regional view from eastern Long Island to beyond Cape Cod and north into Maine. The rugged coast of New England, a result of heavy glacial action during the last ice age, is evident even at this great distance. Distinctive features are: Cape Cod, the cities of Boston, MA, Providence, RI, and Long Island. The rose colored tint on the landscape is because of the autumn forest foliage.
