Image Caption: At the northern end of the coast of this country, due south of the Canary
Islands, is the western margin of the Sahara Desert. The climate is relatively
cool here due to the cool waters offshore. Almost no vegetation grows. A
small salt playa appears in the extreme top right corner under scattered clouds.
The only features on this coast marked on the 1983 ONC map other than a small
coastwise road, are shrines and shipwrecks.
