Illustrates subtle linear feature, with superimposed deflationary scallops, on Padre Island, between Baffin and Corpus Christi Bays. Deflationary scallops originated during the 1930's, due to overgrazing, but the linear pattern itself has not yet been recognized. One hypothesis would be that this is a relict trough from a former shoreline position, with the beach ridge itself having been removed by deflation.
