Muehlberger for research into formation of the pull-apart basin near the center of view. Such structures form between the tips of strike-slip faults (faults that undergo horizontal translation) where ends of the two faults overlap. In the hills upstream from the wide alluvial fan in the upper right corner of the view is the only apple orchard in northern Argentina.
