produces the most oysters of anywhere in the United States. It was hit
by two hurricanes this year which could devastate the oyster crop.
North Florida is mostly pine forest that is managed for paper and
timber. It also has one of the largest concentrations of military
bases in the country. There is an 6% probability of a hurricane
striking this part of the Gulf Coast in any given year. This is equal
to the Houston-Galveston area.
