Image Caption: This shot taken on the 45th orbit of the STS070 mission shows the atmospheric limb, just at sunrise for the orbiter, over the West Indies. The crew has a chance to look at the earth's atmospheric limb about every 45 minutes throughout the duration of the mission. The limb gives us a chance to look at the many different layers that compose the Earth's atmosphere and gives scientist data about how much sunlight is deflected away from Earth due to atmospheric dust and gases.
