Image Caption: STS068-205-009 Canadian River, Oklahoma, U.S.A. October 1994
Visible in this color infrared, south-southwest-looking, low-oblique photograph are the southeast-flowing Canadian River south of Norman as it turns eastward near Lexington; riverbed sandbars, which are prevalent during the fall; and numerous agricultural field patterns north and east of the Canadian River that become more scattered with the rolling terrain south of the river. The Arbuckle Reservoir, part of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, is barely discernible in the low, rugged Arbuckle Mountains (upper left).
