Image Caption: SE view of the southern shore of the Gulf of
Carpentaria. Ephemeral streams combine and then spread out
in deltas that locally prograde over old shorelines. Patches
of sediment in the water may be stirred up by
bottom-feeding fish, but could be "whitings" of calcium
carbonate precipitated from the sea water.
