STS045-95-022: Salhalin Island and Easternmost Russia This
unusual view shows Sakhalin Island from the north, and the oppos-
ing Sikhote-Alin Range on the mainland of eastern Russia in the
center of the view. The seldom-seen lower Amur River basin occu-
pies the region on the right. Ice floes in the southern Sea of
Okhotsk appear in the foreground.
