of dissected volcanoes that are 0.5-1 million years old. The
summits of the two mountains are cloud covered in this photo-
graph, but the deep radial river drainage is seen well on both of
Tahiti's mountains, and the city and harbor of Papeete, a popular
South Pacific anchorage, is clear.
