Image Caption: STS040-76-091 Sunglint pattern photographed along the Pacific
coast of Japan (north Honshu Island). A rather sharp, curving
feature is evident offshore and indicates a change in sea surface
roughness (smoother water inshore, rougher water offshore). This
is probably due to stronger offshore winds associated with a
front to the south of this location. This photograph is the
first in a series of rather spectacular sunglint photographs
which extend offshore across the Kuroshio Current.
