Image Caption: S37-16-07 (35mm) The Mexican volcano Colima is erupting in this
scene... note the steam plume flowing to the west from the peak
of the volcano. The last major eruption was in 1913, but geolo-
gists speculate that small, quieters eruption must occur fairly
frequently. It is currently being monitored for growth of the
lava dome at the summit and landslide potential. the hot lava
from this eruption had set some brush fires at the mountains
base. These are not obvious in this photograph.
