Chott Plateau. Chotts Zahrez Chergui (right) and Zahrez Gharbi
(left) are a typical size (15-25 miles long) for chotts on the
plateau, around 3000 feet, between the high Tell Atlas and the
southern Atlas ranges. Trees occupy the highest poarts of the
ranges to north and south. These chotts lie due south of Algiers
to which this area is connected by a railway line. (S34-77-95)
