View southwestward of Cape Engano, at the northeastern corner of
Luzon, Philippines. Streams follow geological structure, rather
than running directly toward the sea. Coral reefs fringe the Pa-
cific coast (toward the camera). A large northerly swell resulted
in great surf on the reefs. Sharp suloys stand out in the waters
west of the Cape. At the upper right of the photograph turbid wa-
ter discharged from the Cagoyau River is flowing eastward through
