Image Caption: This scene shows a fantastic view of the Indian Ocean with oblique views of the southern portion of India, Palk Strait and Sri Lanka (1.5N, 77.5E). The bottom portion of the photo shows the complete chain of the Maldive Islands. This is a rare detailed view of the atolls that form the Maldives. The dusty atmosphere over India is clearly visible as it extends towards the Bay of Bengal but the atmosphere over the Maldives appears to be clear at this time.
