Mazhur Sandfield, An Nafud T82

The Great Mazhur Sand Dune Field of the northern An Nafud Desert
can be seen in these two low oblique views. The top view shows
the magnitude of the large sand dune field as it bends around the
Aja Hills (1). The top view also shows center pivot irrigation
plots scattered along the flanks of the upland and hills which
parallel the sand dune field. The bottom view shows in more de-
tail the individual sand dunes and the effect the winds have in
disrupting the sand flows over small hills and escarments. Some
of the dunes are over 120 meters. (S28-153-74R, S28-78-024)
