Image Caption: This view of Mexico City, the gray area in the middle of the basin, is unusually clear. An urban smog pall frequently masks the city. This photograph also provides a clear view of the summit of Popocateptl, the volcano southeast of Mexico City which has been frequently active. Popocateptl is considered to be one of the world's most potentially deadly volcanoes because of its proximity to more than 20 million people in Mexico City and Puebla.
