Featured in this southeast-looking, low-oblique photograph is the Red River, named for its red sediment of eroded particles from the Permian Basin of west Texas. The river separates Texas to the south and Arkansas to the north. Visible are Wright Patman Lake (upper right) and Texarkana to the northeast, a transportation and trade center for a large agricultural and pine forest area. North of Texarkana is Millwood Lake in Arkansas.
