Request high resolution version >>   See all metadata, images and captions >> The bank of shallow water around Providence and Cerf Islands has the appearance of a true platform reef, although recent studies have shown that there is very little living coral on its seaward margins, while the surface is dominated by seagrass [STS033-76-43, 1989].
