In this morning photograph, the Everest Massif with its many peaks is just right of center. Mt. Everest itself has two peaks, Everest (29,035', 8850 m) and South Peak (28,700', 8,748 m). In the north within the group is Changtse (24,803', 7,560 m), in the northwest, Khumbutse (21,867', 6,665 m), just to the south Lohtse (27,940', 8516 m) and in the southwest, Nuptse (25,791', 7,861 m). Mt. Everest is distinguishable by having its entire left (west) side in shadow.
