Mauna Loa Hawaii: Mauna Loa means "Long Mountain" in Hawaiian. This 4,170 m high volcano last erupted in 1984 and makes up almost half of the Island of Hawaii.

Mt St Helen’s: The scars from the May 18, 1980 eruption are still visible near Mt. St. Helens. Before the 1980 eruption the volcano had been dormant since 1857.

Pic Tousside is a volcano located in the Tibesti Mountains in the northwestern tip of Chad. The volcano reaches 3,265 m in height and is the second highest peak in Tibesti. The dark lava flows are composed of andestie and the white area is called Trou an Natron and is composed of sodium carbonate. Little volcanic activity presently occurs in this region.
