| Analogues to Martian Landforms. Lop Nur (East Taklamakan Desert, Sinkiang, western China) is a large ephemeral lake with well-preserved old shorelines. Mars Orbital Camera images reveal similar features in the northern hemisphere of Mars, for which Lop Nur may be a possible analogue; well-developed dust storms, as seen here are common on Mars. |
