| New Zealand: Cook Strait. In this companion view to frame STS104-329-026, the active Wellington fault zone, part of the plate boundary complex, can be seen to pass southward through the city of Wellington, continuing offshore past Port Nicholson bay. This is an exceptional shot of the topographically high node from which the Hope and Marlborough faults (see above) splay off from the Alpine fault zone. |
