| Switzerland: Jura Alps, Pre-alps, Lake Geneva, the Matterhorn. The Rhone Valley is centered in this frame, one of seven in an excellent stereo mapping strip of the Swiss and French Alps. Frames overlap by ~60%, so that faults, drainages, and folded rock strata can be studied with stereoscopes and mapped. This suite will be used by specialists in alpine tectonics in a workshop on stereophoto mapping from Shuttle/ISS photos, to be held in Switzerland next month. (see also frame 41 below) |
