South Africa: Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. Splendid view of the intersection of two great folded mountain ranges -- Cedarburg (trending N) and Karroo (trending ENE) -- which formed during the assembly of the supercontinent of Gondwana. Cedarburg was formed first (~230 million years ago); the Karroo was formed somewhat later and folded the southern ends of the Cedarburg structures.
