Caribbean: The nearshore coral reefs and exceptional white sand beaches of Cayo Largo, Cuba, make this an increasingly popular tourist destination. The area was made an Area Natural Turistica by the Cuban government in 1986.

Caribbean: Cayo Romano, Cuba is one of a chain of islands targeted for increased tourism development. The land of the island is low-lying with much of it covered by mangroves and wetlands, and is home to an estimated 30,000 flamingoes. Plans include 22,000 new hotel rooms and a new airport on Cayo Coco which can be seen in the lower right.
