| Africa: Tibesti Massif, Aorounga Impact Crater, Chad. Tibesti is proof that no matter what the odds, you can have volcanoes collocated with an impact crater (Aorounga, 12.6 km diameter, <345 million years old). Unfortunately, in this view with relatively few clouds, Aorounga impact crater is under cloud. Tibesti also serves as an analogue for Olympus Mons, Mars, as do the giant wind-eroded grooves that sweep around the Tibesti massif. |
