| Central Andes: From the north point of Valle Fértil and Sierra de Velasco, the Andean Altiplano widens abruptly and narrow foreland ranges bend Northeast. Rusty volcanic terrain of the Altiplano lies to the NW. Along this fundamental tectonic boundary new gold mines are being developed. |
