| Lake Eyre, Australia: Lake Eyre, South Australia, is another sensitive indicator of global weather patterns, such as El Niņo/La Niņa episodes. Drying of the lake has been associated with past El Niņo events, while flooding has occurred during La Niņa episodes. |
