"We catch a glimpse of a huge swirl of clouds out the window over the middle of the Pacific Ocean, or the boot of Italy jutting down into the Mediterranean, or the brilliant blue coral reefs of the Caribbean strutting their beauty before the stars. And...we experienced those uniquely human qualities: awe, curiosity, wonder, joy, amazement." (Russell L. Schweickart, Apollo Astronaut ("The Home Planet")

Checking for Microsoft® .NET®

Microsoft's .NET Framework 2.0 shows up in the list of installed programs as Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

In Windows® XP the control panel is found on the Start button menu unless it has been set to not display, in which case it can be turned on by right-clicking the Start button, selecting Properties, then Customize, then the Advanced tab and checking a display option under Control Panel. The name of the control panel to use to view the list of installed programs is Add or Remove Programs.

In Windows Vista the control panel is found on the Start button menu Control Panel. By default this takes you to the Control Panel Home, which has an item in the lower left named Programs. Clicking that provides the option of selecting to uninstall a program, which can be used to view the list of selected programs. If the control panel is set to classic view, then the option to look for is called Programs and Features.
